How the Discord Server Counter Works
What the counter shows
The tool shows three numbers from your Discord account: the total number of servers you are in, the servers you can manage, and the servers you own. Each number comes straight from the server list attached to your Discord login, so there is nothing to configure.
Why the counter needs your Discord login
Discord does not expose your server list publicly, so the tool needs you to log in with Discord. This is the same login used across the site for voting, managing listings and other tools. The login only asks for your identity and your server list, and the page returns you here when it is done.
Owned servers versus managed servers
A server is owned when you created it or hold the owner role on it. A server is managed when your account has the Manage Server permission, which lets you change settings, roles and channels. You can own one server and still manage many others.
