About This Bot

# 🔊 The Echo Chamber
Because every community has a story worth remembering.

The Echo Chamber turns your server's inside jokes, milestones and legendary moments into a shared, searchable archive. Your members choose what is remembered. The bot doesn't log or read your conversations.

How it works

- 📌 Memories: save a moment with a title, the story in your own words, a category, a date and a picture if you want one. Right-click any message → Apps → Preserve as Memory, or use `/remember` for things that happened off-screen, like meetups or voice chat.
- 🔁 Echoes: click I remember this to say you were there too. Each member can echo a memory once, and there's no leaderboard.
- 💬 Recollections: add your side of the story without changing the original.
- 🗳️ Nominations: suggest a moment with `/nominate`. It joins the archive once enough members echo it.

Rediscover your history

- 🔍 `/memory-search` finds memories by word, and `/memories` lets you browse with sorting, categories and a 🎲 Surprise me button
- 📅 `/on-this-day` shows memories from this date in earlier years
- 🌅 The Daily Echo brings back a memory every day in a channel you choose
- 🕸️ Link memories that belong to the same story, then follow the trail in order
- 🎆 `/year-in-echoes` looks back at the year: the most remembered moments, the busiest month and more
- 🕯️ `/forgotten` brings back old moments that hardly anyone has echoed

⏳ Time capsules

Seal messages until a future date: a message to the community, predictions, a challenge, or a letter to your future self. Until then, nobody can read them, not even the moderators. On opening day, every message is revealed together.

🛡️ Built for communities

- Optional moderator review with approve and hide buttons in a moderators' channel
- Limit who can preserve and nominate memories to a role
- Private memories, per-server timezone, and adjustable nomination thresholds
- Members can export what they've contributed (HTML, Markdown or JSON) or remove all of it with `/forget-me`
- Needs no privileged intents and only basic permissions
